First of all I want to say a big hello to anyone who is reading this, if that is only me then hello me!
So here I am again, taking to social media to share what I hope will be an exciting journey!
My name is Debbie. I am married to Simon and we have two girls aged 11 and 15 and a dog called Holly.
I have struggled with my weight since I was about 18. I have tried every diet and trick in the book but still end up gaining more weight than I lose. I try to be active and was a keen runner for several years but last year I started getting very tired and my body started hurting all over. That led to my fitness level dropping to practically non existent and about 2.5/3 stone extra weight to carry around. In December last year I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia. I was told it was unlikely to ever go away but that losing some weight and gradually building my fitness levels back up would help.
6 months later and I have managed to cycle 55 miles in aid of Charity so my fitness goal is well on the way. But I haven’t lost a huge amount of weight.
Tonight I decided to go back to Slimming World. I did so well there before and I know I can do it again so here I am! This time no setting of big goals just a slow and steady, healthy downward trend.
Well I think that is enough to begin with. I look forward to sharing my journey with you and hold tight, it’s going to be a bumpy ride!!
